Deep, Bold, and Earthy Characteristics
Sensory evaluation of Ugandan Planifolia beans compared to Madagascar origins.
Rich Chocolate & Fig Notes
"Ugandan vanilla presents a bolder, earthier flavor profile than its Madagascar counterpart. It features prominent notes of milk chocolate, figs, and a rich, creamy buttery finish, making it exceptional for premium ice creams and heavy cream-based desserts."
Intense Extraction Yield
"Due to the naturally high vanillin content inherent to the Rwenzori terroir, Ugandan extract beans yield a darker, more potent vanilla extract. It requires less volume to achieve the same aromatic intensity in commercial baking."
Superior Vanillin Concentrations
Laboratory tested parameters for our premium cured batches.
Uganda Gourmet Black Beans
Uganda's unique terroir and biannual harvest cycles allow beans to stay on the vine longer, synthesizing higher amounts of natural vanillin before traditional curing. This results in an incredibly fragrant, oily bean.
Strict Harvest Declarations
To protect quality and prevent premature picking, the Ugandan Ministry of Agriculture (MAAIF) sets strict official harvest dates twice a year. We strictly source from farms adhering to these mature harvest windows.
Unique biannual harvests (June-July & December-January) ensuring year-round fresh supply.
Beans remain on vines for full 9 months, maximizing vanillin development before curing.
Bundled in wax paper and packed in 25kg cartons to preserve essential oils during air/sea freight.

The Artisanal Curing Process
Green beans are immersed in hot water (60-65°C) to halt vegetative growth and initiate enzymatic reactions.
Beans are wrapped in blankets and kept in wooden boxes for 48 hours to develop their dark brown color and aroma.
Beans are laid in the sun daily for weeks, then massaged by hand to ensure even drying and oil distribution.
Stored in wax-paper lined boxes for 2 to 6 months. This aging process matures the deep flavor profile.
